Unlike many other tissues or organs, the central nervous system does not renew or repair itself when damaged. Theradigm's programs address large unmet medical needs in CNS disease, such as stroke, spinal cord injury, ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) and others. Preclinical data have shown recovery from stroke and traumatic brain injury upon IV infusion of BMSC cells and early preclinical reports with NSCs have demonstrated potential repair in an ALS model as well as homing to brain tumors. Development is underway for an "off-the-shelf" product for immediate delivery after injury.
